How to Request a Product From Abroad

If you need a product from abroad brought into Egypt, Shiply Egypt lets you publish a product request and receive offers from travelers. You stay on your request hub (`/requests/[id]`) for offers, negotiation, payment, and delivery tracking once a deal is underway.

Create your account

Sign up for Shiply Egypt and complete basic profile details so travelers can recognize you during negotiation. Use accurate contact information—deals move faster when both sides can respond promptly.

Start a marketplace request

Go to `/requests/new` (Create a Request) to open the request form. Choose the service type that matches what you need: shop and ship (traveler buys the item) or ship only / carry only (you already purchased and need carry/delivery help), when those options are offered.

You can save a draft or publish when the request is ready. Published marketplace requests that are public can appear on Browse Product Requests for eligible travelers.

Describe the product clearly

Add the product name, category, quantity, and any product link that helps the traveler find the exact item. Include photos when helpful (up to the platform image limits), estimated weight, and notes about size, color, or store preferences.

Clear details reduce back-and-forth and lower the chance of the wrong item being purchased.

Origin, destination, and budget

Set the preferred origin country and city (where the product should be bought or picked up) and the destination in Egypt where you want delivery or meetup.

Fill in pricing fields carefully—item price estimates, traveler reward or budget fields, and any dates that matter (such as when you need the item). Unrealistic budgets often attract fewer serious offers.

Public vs private requests

Public requests can be discovered by travelers browsing the marketplace (subject to Shiply’s visibility and deadline rules).

Private requests are used when you send a request directly from a specific traveler’s trip listing. Only that traveler (and you) should see that private request in the normal marketplace flow—useful when you already found a matching trip.

Offers, negotiation, and selecting a traveler

Travelers may send offers or counters on your request. You can accept, reject, or counter until you agree on final terms.

You can also browse traveler trips first, then request directly from a trip that matches your route and timing. Either path should end with an accepted offer before payment unlocks.

Pay through Shiply, then track delivery

When terms are accepted, complete payment through Shiply’s deal payment flow (see the payments and InstaPay guide). After the deposit is secured, the traveler can purchase or carry as agreed, upload proof where required, and update delivery progress on the match.

When you receive the item, confirm delivery on the platform so the traveler can become eligible for payout. After delivery confirmation, both sides may leave reviews according to platform rules.

Tips for better matches

Browse open trips while your request is live, keep communication on-platform, and avoid off-platform payments. Read Trust & Safety before you commit to a deal.

  • Be specific about the exact product and acceptable substitutes.
  • Prefer travelers with verification badges and clear trip dates.
  • Confirm meetup or delivery preferences early.
